Requires all school districts to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training at the high school level as part of physical education or other required curriculum.

Mandates CPR training be based on instructional programs from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or another nationally recognized program using current evidence-based emergency cardiovascular care guidelines.

Requires all high school students to study and practice the psychomotor skills associated with performing CPR at least once before graduation, except students with disabilities as defined in section 1007.02.

Encourages school districts to provide basic first aid and CPR training to students beginning in grade 6 and every 2 years thereafter, with public and private partnerships for training and funding encouraged.

Effective date: July 1, 2020.
