A student whose parent is transferred or pending transfer to a military installation within Florida is considered a resident of that school district for enrollment purposes and receives preferential treatment in controlled open enrollment.

Beginning with the 2022-2023 school year, high school students who earn an Armed Services Qualification Test score of Category II or higher and complete a minimum of two credits in Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps courses from the same military branch are counted toward the college and career credit component of school grades.

References to "rules adopted by the State Board of Education" are replaced with "state board rule" for streamlined regulatory citation.

The act takes effect July 1, 2020.
