Authorizes private school-employed crossing guards to direct traffic on private school property or county road portions with school access, upon approval by the county sheriff

Requires private school crossing guards to complete at least 8 hours of traffic control instruction through a Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission-approved program or similar sheriff/police department program

Exempts private school crossing guards from meeting uniform minimum standards required for law enforcement officers or auxiliary law enforcement officers under s. 943.13

Allows private school crossing guards to work without immediate supervision of a fully qualified law enforcement officer if approved by the county sheriff

Maintains existing exemptions from training requirements for former law enforcement officers, those earning under $5,000 annually in counties with population under 75,000, and students serving in school patrols
