Exempts animal health records submitted to or generated by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services or state veterinarian from public records requirements, including diagnosis, treatment, and medication information for animals

Protects personal identifying information (name, address, phone, email) of animal owners who use the Bronson Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory services from public disclosure

Shields names of department employees, contract employees, and volunteers who diagnose or treat animals from public records requests

Does not exempt official certificates of veterinary inspection or documents required by law to transport animals in Florida

Exemption is subject to Open Government Sunset Review and will be repealed on October 2, 2025, unless reenacted by the Legislature

Justification states that without exemptions, animal owners avoid reporting diseases to the department, fearing competitors could use disclosed information to create uncertainty about Florida meat and dairy products
