Adds juvenile justice detention officers I and II and juvenile justice detention officer supervisors employed by the Department of Juvenile Justice to the Special Risk Class of the Florida Retirement System, effective July 1, 2020

Requires eligible juvenile justice detention officers to be certified under s. 985.66(3) and have primary duties involving custody and physical restraint of detained youth within facilities or during transport

Special Risk Class membership provides enhanced retirement benefits for employees in high-risk public safety positions, including law enforcement, firefighters, correctional officers, and emergency medical personnel

The Legislature declares the act fulfills an important state interest in providing fair and adequate benefits managed in an actuarially sound manner as required by the State Constitution
