Sponsors must accept charter school applications submitted at any time during the calendar year, removing the previous February 1 deadline requirement

Charter schools operated by not-for-profit or municipal entities may use unrestricted current and capital assets for other charter schools they operate statewide, rather than being limited to within the same school district

High-performing charter schools may submit two applications to establish new charter schools in any school district in the state, with subsequent applications allowed once previous schools commence operations or applications are withdrawn

Virtual charter schools may provide both full-time and part-time virtual instruction for students in kindergarten through grade 12, and may contract with any public or charter school to provide courses they cannot otherwise offer

The opening date for new charter schools may be determined by the applicant rather than requiring mutual agreement between the applicant and sponsor
