• Revises criminal penalties for unlicensed contracting violations under Florida Statutes Section 489.127

• First violation of general contracting without proper registration or certification constitutes a misdemeanor of the first degree

• Repeat violations and violations during declared states of emergency constitute felonies of the third degree

• Establishes tiered felony penalties for unlicensed contractor business based on contract price: misdemeanor for contracts under $1,000; third-degree felony for $1,000-$19,999; second-degree felony for $20,000-$199,999; first-degree felony for $200,000 or more

• Takes effect October 1, 2021
