Indian Trail Improvement District in Palm Beach County is authorized to expend funds to study the feasibility of converting the district to a municipality via referendum under section 165.0615, Florida Statutes.

The district may establish an incorporation committee with public membership to hold public hearings on the feasibility study and draft charter development.

The district may use funds to develop a draft charter for the proposed municipality.

The Indian Trail Improvement District shall continue operating as an independent special district for lands with outstanding indebtedness until the debt terminates or a transition date is mutually agreed upon by the municipality and district.

All district assets, liabilities, written contracts, and existing resolutions and policies remain in full force and effect until the transition date, unless amended or terminated.
