Requires school boards to notify high school students and parents at the beginning of each school year about acceleration, academic, and career planning options in understandable language.

Mandates notification include information about Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, dual enrollment, career and professional academies, career-themed courses, career and technical education pathways, work-based learning opportunities, Florida Virtual School, early graduation options, and contact information for certified school counselors.

Requires middle grades students (grades 6-8) to complete a career and education planning course that is Internet-based, customizable, and results in a personalized academic and career plan.

Mandates the personalized plan be developed in consultation with a certified school counselor and inform students of high school graduation requirements, scholarship opportunities, college admission requirements, and available career and education pathways.

Effective date is July 1, 2021.
