Revises the definition of "continuous service" in the Florida Retirement System to change "shall be" to "is" when describing breaks in service due to 1 calendar month or more absence from payroll.

Reduces the reemployment window for law enforcement officers from 12 calendar months to 30 calendar days after resignation to avoid a break in continuous service credit.

Changes language regarding breaks in service from "no break in continuous service is not shall be deemed" to "a break in continuous service is not" for law enforcement officers on layoff or running for elected office.

Modifies the employment after retirement restrictions for retired law enforcement officers working as school resource officers, changing the waiting period from 30 calendar days to 6 calendar months before they can receive both salary and retirement benefits simultaneously.

Effective date: July 1, 2021.
