Creates a public records exemption for information received by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles during investigations or examinations under sections 319.1414, 319.25, 320.861, and 322.71, keeping such information confidential until investigations conclude or administrative action is finalized.

Permits the department to release confidential investigation information in furtherance of its official duties or to other governmental agencies for their official duties and responsibilities.

Applies the Open Government Sunset Review Act, with the exemption set to automatically repeal on October 2, 2026, unless the Legislature reviews and reenacts it.

Establishes that disclosure of pending investigation information could obstruct investigations and impair the department's official performance, constituting a public necessity for the confidentiality exemption.

Takes effect on the same date as CS/HB 1151 or similar legislation, if adopted in the same legislative session and becomes law.
