Creates the Care for Retired Law Enforcement Dogs Program within the Department of Law Enforcement, providing a stable funding source for veterinary care for retired law enforcement dogs.

Department shall contract with a nonprofit corporation meeting specific criteria (tax-exempt status for 5+ years, dedicated to retired law enforcement dog protection/care) to administer and manage the program through a competitive grant process.

Annual reimbursement capped at $1,500 per dog for eligible retired law enforcement dogs; requires valid documentation from law enforcement agency and veterinarian invoices; unused funds cannot carry over to future years.

Nonprofit corporation may use up to 10 percent of appropriated funds for administrative expenses including salaries and benefits.

Appropriates $300,000 in recurring General Revenue Fund monies to the Department of Law Enforcement for fiscal year 2021-2022 and each fiscal year thereafter; takes effect July 1, 2021.
