Allows uncertified or unregistered persons to perform specialty contracting work on commercial or residential swimming pools, interactive water features, hot tubs, and spas if supervised by a certified or registered contractor.

Supervision does not require a direct contract between the supervising contractor and the worker, nor does the worker need to be an employee of the supervising contractor.

The supervising contractor must be certified or registered under the applicable specialty contractor categories, the work must fall within their scope of license, and they are responsible for the work performed.

The work cannot require other types of certification or registration beyond the swimming pool specialty contractor categories specified in statute.

Takes effect July 1, 2021.
