• Authorizes the Board of Commissioners of the South Broward Hospital District to conduct meetings using any communication media technology, with commissioners deemed present in person for quorum purposes, while maintaining a physical location for in-person attendance.

• Authorizes the board to acquire, own, establish, develop, construct, lease, equip, operate, manage, and maintain hospitals, health facilities, and programs both within and outside district boundaries.

• Establishes that ad valorem taxes and non-ad valorem special assessments levied by the district must be expended solely within district boundaries and prohibits the district from using such revenues for purposes outside the district.

• Permits the board to create separate legal entities for hospitals and programs that may not be designated as public property, subject to state constitutional requirements.

• Authorizes the board to encumber real and personal property and continue all facilities and services in which the district was engaged as of January 1, 2020.
