Prohibits unauthorized use or release of information from the Driver and Vehicle Information Database, establishing a noncriminal infraction punishable by a fine not exceeding $2,000

Requires the law enforcement accreditation program to address access to and use of personal identification information contained in electronic databases

Mandates the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission incorporate instruction on authorized access to and proper use of personal identification information in electronic databases into the initial certification curriculum for law enforcement officers

Requires the commission to adopt rules mandating that each law enforcement officer receive training on authorized access to and use of personal identification information in electronic databases as part of the 40 hours of required instruction for continued employment or appointment

Takes effect October 1, 2021
