The Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco may designate property as a specialty center within the City of Freeport if a minimum of 25 adjacent acres were donated to the Walton County School Board by the same entity or commonly-owned entity that owns the specialty center property.

The specialty center designation is limited to a maximum of 15 acres.

Alcoholic beverages sold for consumption on specialty center premises may be consumed anywhere within the specialty center by vendors and customers.

Applicants for alcoholic beverage licenses in a specialty center cannot be denied licensure based solely on distance from educational facilities if the shortest pedestrian route along public thoroughfare between the business and school is at least 1,000 feet.

The act takes effect upon becoming law.
