CS for SB 532 – Workforce Education

• Amends section 1011.80, Florida Statutes, to expand the workforce education programs that school district career centers are authorized to conduct
• Continues to allow school district career centers to conduct portions of associate in applied science (AAS) or associate in science (AS) degree programs that contain an occupational completion point conferring a certificate or applied technology diploma
• Newly authorizes school district career centers to conduct AAS or AS nursing degree programs, provided the program is offered only to graduates of a licensed practical nursing program at the same career center
• College credit in AAS or AS degrees may still only be awarded by a Florida College System institution; any instruction articulating to a degree program remains subject to State Board of Education guidelines under s. 1007.25
• Effective date of July 1, 2021
