Creates section 45.085 of Florida Statutes authorizing courts to apply the doctrine of cy pres in civil matters when appropriate or by agreement of the parties.

Grants courts discretion to approve the timing, method, and recipient of funds subject to cy pres distribution.

Permits cy pres distribution to nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations providing services reasonably related to the subject matter and purposes of the civil case.

Includes organizations that provide civil legal services to the poor or fund such services as eligible recipients of cy pres distributions.

Takes effect July 1, 2021.
