Prohibits importing, distributing, selling, or transferring assault weapons (including all AK and AR series rifles and Sig Sauer MCX) and large-capacity magazines (over 10 rounds) within Florida, with felony penalties including 2-year mandatory minimum imprisonment for violations.

Bans possession of assault weapons and large-capacity magazines statewide effective July 1, 2022, with 1-year mandatory minimum imprisonment for violations, with exemptions for law enforcement and military personnel in official duties.

Allows persons lawfully possessing assault weapons or large-capacity magazines before October 1, 2021 to retain them if they obtain a certificate of possession by October 1, 2022, but restricts their use to residence, business property, target ranges, shooting clubs, and approved firearms exhibitions.

Requires licensed gun dealers who purchase assault weapons or large-capacity magazines to execute certificates of transfer sent to the Department of Law Enforcement, which must maintain a registry of all transfers.

Permits manufacture and sale of assault weapons and large-capacity magazines for out-of-state distribution and allows permanently inoperable weapons to be exempted from the restrictions.
