Exempts information received by the Attorney General and Department of Legal Affairs during investigations into social media platform violations from public records disclosure until investigation completion or cessation.

Permits disclosure of confidential investigatory information during active investigations only to perform official duties or to other governmental entities performing official functions.

Requires certain information to remain permanently confidential and exempt after investigation completion, including personal identifying information, computer forensic reports, proprietary business information, trade secrets, and data security weaknesses.

Defines "proprietary business information" as information owned by a business, treated as private, not publicly disclosed except as required by law, and includes trade secrets or competitive information that would harm the business if released.

Establishes sunset provision requiring the exemption to be repealed on October 2, 2026, unless the Legislature reviews and reenacts the exemption; effective July 1, 2021, contingent on passage of similar legislation (SB 7072).
