Expands hate crime reclassification grounds in Florida law to include prejudice based on gender or gender identity of any person.

Defines "gender identity" as a person's gender-related identity, appearance, or behavior, regardless of whether it differs from traditionally associated characteristics or assigned sex at birth.

Increases criminal penalties by one classification level for any felony or misdemeanor committed with prejudice based on specified protected characteristics (race, color, ancestry, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, homeless status, advanced age, gender, or gender identity).

Replaces "mental or physical disability" terminology with "disability" in section 775.0863, defining it as physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities.

Takes effect October 1, 2022.
