CS/HB 141 Summary

• Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles shall develop a reduced-dimensions Blue Angels specialty license plate for motorcycles, available to motorcycle owners and lessees upon annual request with applicable taxes and fees.

• Annual use fees collected from plate sales shall be distributed to the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit) for maintenance, programs, marketing, and projects, with up to 10 percent used for plate marketing and administration costs; 50 percent of funds go to National Flight Academy programs and 50 percent to National Naval Aviation Museum programs.

• Plate dimensions are 4 inches wide by 7 inches long and must incorporate a department-approved Blue Angels image with character design (numerals 1-999 and letters A-Z, maximum four characters) printed on the far left side; word "Florida" appears at the top in small letters.

• Plate owners may transfer the specialty plate to a replacement vehicle acquired during the registration period without refund of annual use or processing fees.

• Department may issue personalized prestige plates in accordance with applicable provisions; act takes effect October 1, 2022, contingent upon HB 143 or similar legislation becoming law.
