HB 185 Summary

• Allows manufacturers with vendor licenses to sell, transport, and deliver malt beverages directly to vendors if they comply with distributor requirements and are limited to kegs of 5.16, 7.75, or 15.5 gallons.

• Exempts manufacturers from this direct delivery authority if they have a franchise agreement with a distributor or produce more than 7,000 kegs annually.

• Permits vendors licensed as manufacturers to transfer malt beverages to restaurants with common ownership affiliations, limited to restaurant groups comprising no more than 15 restaurants.

• Authorizes manufacturers to transport malt beverages in vehicles owned or leased by persons disclosed in their license application, rather than only manufacturer-owned vehicles.

• Effective date: July 1, 2022.
