Florida College System institutions, school district career centers, and charter technical career centers may waive out-of-state fees for students living in recovery residences who are employed in-state and work at least 20 hours per week.

Students granted the waiver pay tuition and fees equal to in-state resident rates, not out-of-state rates.

Students must provide written or electronic verification of recovery residence residency through either a signed lease agreement or affidavit from a certified recovery residence administrator or clinical supervisor.

Eligible students receive the waiver for 1 academic year and may renew it by maintaining a cumulative 2.5 grade point average or higher and resubmitting verification.

A statewide limit of 50 waivers per academic year applies, and institutions must report annually to the State Board of Education the number and value of all waivers granted; the State Board of Education shall adopt implementing rules.
