Sales tax exemption applies to new ENERGY STAR and WaterSense products from 12:01 a.m. April 22, 2022 through 11:59 p.m. April 24, 2022.

ENERGY STAR products eligible for exemption include room air conditioners, air purifiers, ceiling fans, clothes washers, clothes dryers, dehumidifiers, dishwashers, freezers, refrigerators, water heaters, swimming pool pumps, and light bulb packages designated by EPA and Department of Energy by April 1, 2022, and affixed with an ENERGY STAR label.

WaterSense products eligible for exemption include bathroom sink faucets, faucet accessories, high-efficiency toilets or urinals, showerheads, and weather- or sensor-based irrigation controllers recognized as water efficient by the EPA's WaterSense program by April 1, 2022, and affixed with a WaterSense label.

Department of Revenue is authorized to adopt emergency rules to administer the tax exemption.

Act takes effect July 1, 2022.
