CS/HB 301 - Financial Disclosures Summary

• Candidates for constitutional office and other elective offices subject to annual filing requirements must file full and public disclosure of financial interests, verified under oath or affirmation, effective April 1, 2022.

• Officers required to file full and public disclosure of financial interests under section 112.3144 must certify completion of annual ethics training, effective January 1, 2023.

• Specified local officers (mayors, city commissioners, city council members, and city/county/town/village managers) must comply with full and public disclosure requirements of section 8, Article II of the State Constitution, effective January 1, 2023.

• Local officers must file statements of financial interests with county supervisors of elections through December 31, 2022; beginning January 1, 2023, all statements filed with the commission must be submitted electronically.

• Beginning January 1, 2023, delinquency notices for missed financial disclosures may not be sent by certified mail but must be delivered by email and redelivered weekly until the person files the required statement.
