Department of Children and Families shall develop and implement a state nutrition assistance reimbursement program to reimburse eligible community-based nonprofit and nonprofit religious organizations for administrative costs related to enrollment assistance services for food assistance programs, including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children.

Eligible organizations must be operating under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and must have been providing enrollment assistance services for at least 2 years.

Organizations must submit applications on forms prescribed by the department, with the department determining all eligibility criteria and application procedures.

Department shall establish a funding mechanism to support reimbursements under the program and adopt rules for implementation.

Act becomes effective July 1, 2022.
