Amends Florida Statute 112.1816 to expand the definition of "firefighter" to include full-time, Florida-certified fire investigators employed by fire departments or public safety departments.

Extends eligibility for cancer treatment benefits to full-time, Florida-certified fire investigators whose primary responsibilities include investigation of fires and explosives.

Maintains existing requirements that covered individuals work for employers whose primary responsibilities include prevention and extinguishing of fires, protection of life and property, and enforcement of fire prevention codes and laws.

Takes effect July 1, 2022.
