Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission shall study innovative biomass nutrient removal technologies and mechanical aquatic plant management techniques within the Lake Okeechobee watershed in partnership with the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences and Florida Gulf Coast University's Water School.

Institute shall submit a report to the Commission documenting results of nutrient removal technologies and mechanical aquatic plant management techniques through soil and water samples.

Commission shall submit a report to the Governor, President of the Senate, and Speaker of the House of Representatives by February 1, 2023, including recommendations for statutory changes.

Act takes effect July 1, 2022.
