Removes the requirement that punitive damages awarded in nursing home (ch. 400, F.S.) and assisted living facility (ch. 429, F.S.) lawsuits be equally divided between claimants and the Quality of Long-Term Care Facility Improvement Trust Fund

Eliminates provisions requiring court clerks to transmit jury verdicts to the Chief Financial Officer and the Department of Financial Services to collect punitive damages payments for deposit into the trust fund

Modifies the trust fund to be funded through legislative appropriations, gifts, endowments, charitable contributions, and federal nursing home civil monetary penalties from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, rather than through punitive damages from lawsuits

Takes effect July 1, 2022
