Expands the definition of "first responder" under Florida law to include correctional officers, correctional probation officers, and 911 public safety telecommunicators, in addition to existing categories of law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical technicians or paramedics.

Extends workers' compensation benefits eligibility for employment-related accidents and injuries to correctional officers, correctional probation officers, and 911 public safety telecommunicators employed by state or local government, as well as volunteers in these roles.

Requires employing agencies to provide at least 1 hour of annual educational training on mental health awareness, prevention, mitigation, and treatment to all first responders.

Specifies that required mental health training must include evidence-based coping strategies for traumatic stress, suicide prevention information, and peer support resources, and may be delivered in person, by video, or through other electronic means.

Requires training to be provided by a licensed mental health practitioner under chapters 490 or 491 who specializes in posttraumatic stress disorder, effective July 1, 2022.
