Authorizes approval of medications for treating schizophrenia, schizotypal, or delusional disorders without meeting step-therapy prior authorization requirements if the drug was previously approved and dispensed to the patient within the previous 12 months.

Adds a new criterion (option c) to the medical necessity standards allowing automatic approval when medications of a similar drug class are prescribed for schizophrenia spectrum disorders and meet the prior authorization history requirement.

Modifies section 409.912, Florida Statutes to amend the Medicaid prescribed drug spending-control program's step-therapy approval process.

Takes effect July 1, 2022.
