SB 580 Summary

• Deletes requirement that county rent control measures terminate and expire within 1 year
• Removes prohibition on extending or renewing rent control measures without adopting a new measure meeting all statutory requirements
• Makes identical amendments to both county (s. 125.0103) and municipal (s. 166.043) statutes governing rent control ordinances
• Renumbers subsection (6) to subsection (5) in the judicial challenge provisions for both county and municipal rent control measures
• Effective July 1, 2022
