Amends Florida Building Code (s. 553.73) to require updated codes take effect no sooner than 6 months after the latest occurrence of code publication, Building Commission approval of energy rating software, or Florida Fire Prevention Code publication.

Amends Florida Fire Prevention Code (s. 633.202) to establish a 6-month minimum effective date for updates, measured from the latest occurrence of Florida Building Code publication, Building Commission energy rating software approval, or Fire Prevention Code publication.

Synchronizes the effective dates of Florida Building Code and Florida Fire Prevention Code updates to ensure coordinated implementation of both codes.

Preserves the State Fire Marshal's authority to issue emergency amendments to the Fire Prevention Code that take effect immediately upon finding an immediate public safety threat.

Takes effect July 1, 2022.
