Defines "rapid whole genome sequencing" as investigation of the entire human genome including coding, noncoding regions, and mitochondrial DNA, with preliminary results within 5 days and final results within 14 days

Requires the Agency for Health Care Administration to cover rapid whole genome sequencing as a separately payable Medicaid service, subject to federal approval

Limits coverage to Medicaid recipients age 20 or younger with complex or acute illness of unknown cause, excluding cases caused by environmental exposure, toxic ingestion, infection with normal treatment response, or trauma

Restricts coverage to patients receiving inpatient hospital services in intensive care units or high-acuity pediatric care units

Requires the agency to adopt rules for implementation and makes the act effective July 1, 2023
