Department of Education must develop multilingual versions of Grade 10 ELA and Algebra I EOC assessments in Spanish and Haitian Creole by the 2025-2026 school year, with test items equivalent to English language test items.

School districts must administer multilingual assessment versions to students whose home language is Spanish or Haitian Creole who are receiving English language learner services or recently exited such programs, with parents able to request English-only versions.

Department of Education must develop Grade 10 ELA coordinated screening and progress monitoring system in Spanish and Haitian Creole by the 2025-2026 school year, administered at beginning, middle, and end of school year to eligible English language learner students.

Department of Education shall develop a timetable and action plan to phase in multilingual assessments and expand to additional languages beyond Spanish and Haitian Creole as feasible.

Act takes effect July 1, 2023.
