• Requires applicants for dental licensure to take the American Dental Licensing Examination as the practical/clinical examination component, with the American Board of Dental Examiners maintaining board representation and committee positions.

• Permits dental applicants who previously passed the American Dental Licensing Examination in other states after October 1, 2011, to use those scores for Florida licensure if certain additional standards are met, including valid out-of-state licensure, full-time practice history, and no disciplinary records.

• Establishes a 1-year full-time practice requirement in Florida (minimum 1,200 hours) for out-of-state dentists relocating to Florida, with license expiration if requirement is not met, and creates procedures for board notification and appeals.

• Modifies reexamination provisions to allow any person failing a dental licensure examination under sections 466.006 or 466.007 to retake the examination and establishes reexamination fees.

• Allows up to 3 hours of biennial continuing education credit for practice management courses covering ethical practice management, substance abuse, patient communication, time management, and burnout prevention; repeals section 466.0282 relating to specialist designations effective July 1, 2023.
