Defines "sex" in Florida education law as biological classification based on sex chromosomes, naturally occurring sex hormones, and internal and external genitalia present at birth, with exceptions for individuals with verifiable disorders of sex development.

Prohibits employees, contractors, and students at public K-12 schools from being required to use, provide, or be asked to provide pronouns or titles that do not correspond to a person's biological sex; prohibits penalizing students for declining to provide preferred pronouns.

Bans classroom instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity in prekindergarten through grade 8; requires instruction in grades 9-12 to be age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate in accordance with state standards; applies prohibition to charter schools.

Prohibits private prekindergarten providers and public schools from providing any instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity in early learning programs.

Requires school districts to adopt and post policies on their websites regarding parental notification and involvement in student mental, emotional, and physical health decisions; establishes dispute resolution procedures with special magistrate review and potential legal remedies for parents.

Effective date: July 1, 2023.
