Sentencing points expire 10 years after a defendant completes the incarceration portion of their sentence and may not be used in sentencing calculations or to enhance future sentences

Allows defendants in noncapital cases to petition the sentencing court for recalculation if sentencing points have been reduced or sentencing calculation methods have been changed by a new statute

Permits petitions for sentence recalculation to be filed outside the standard 2-year deadline when they involve changes to sentencing law

Effective date is July 1, 2023
