Removes the prohibition on adult children recovering damages for lost parental companionship, instruction, and guidance in wrongful death actions, making them eligible for the same damages as minor children when there is no surviving spouse.

Removes the prohibition on parents of adult children recovering damages for mental pain and suffering in wrongful death actions when there are no other survivors.

Clarifies that actions under Florida statutes 400.023 (long-term care facilities), 400.0235, and 429.295 (assisted living facilities) are not subject to the medical negligence damage limitations in section 768.21(8).

Maintains restrictions on adult children and parents of adult children recovering certain damages specifically in medical negligence claims as defined by section 766.106(1).
