Requires middle school instructional days to begin no earlier than 8:00 a.m. and high school instructional days to begin no earlier than 8:30 a.m., effective by July 1, 2026.

District school boards must inform their communities, including parents, students, teachers, administrators, coaches, and stakeholders, about the health, safety, and academic impacts of sleep deprivation and benefits of later start times.

Maintains existing requirement that school opening dates cannot be earlier than August 10 of each year.

Applies the middle and high school start time requirements to charter schools through compliance provisions in Florida's charter school statute.

Takes effect July 1, 2023.
