Nancy's Law — Organ Donation (SB 1186, Florida 2023)

• Officially cited as "Nancy's Law," named after Nancy Whited, who died from heart failure after a 9-month delay in scheduling tests for a living kidney donor transplant
• Requires the Florida Department of Health to adopt rules establishing standards to streamline medical testing of living organ donors by eliminating redundant testing if prior testing was completed within a specific timeframe
• Requires the Department of Health to establish standards to streamline the transfer of medical records between physicians of organ donors and recipients
• Amends section 395.2050, Florida Statutes, which governs routine inquiry for organ and tissue donation, certification for procurement activities, and death records review
• Effective date of July 1, 2023
