Prohibits municipalities, counties, special districts, and other political subdivisions from enacting or enforcing any resolution, ordinance, rule, code, or policy that restricts or prohibits the use of appliances (including stoves and grills) based on fuel or energy source

Defines "appliance" as any device manufactured to use energy that is subject to requirements in the Florida Building Code or Florida Fire Prevention Code

Provides exceptions allowing local governments to enforce the Florida Building Code and Florida Fire Prevention Code

Preserves the authority of municipalities or governmental entities that own or operate electric or natural gas utilities to establish rules and policies governing their utility operations

Effective date of July 1, 2023
