Requires Florida Retirement System death benefits to be paid to parents of members killed in the line of duty if no surviving spouse or eligible children exist, effective July 1, 2023.

Benefits paid to parents equal one-half of the member's monthly salary at death, divided equally between surviving parents, and continue until both parents die or for 10 years, whichever occurs first.

Applies to both regular members and Special Risk Class members killed in the line of duty, with "parent" defined as biological or adoptive parent only.

Declares that extending survivor benefits to parents serves a proper state interest in providing fair and adequate retirement system protections to public employees and their dependents.
