Prohibits storing firearms in unoccupied, unsecured private conveyances or vessels unless the firearm is locked in a trunk, glove box, utility box, or other locked container, or secured with a device affixed to the vehicle or vessel.

Defines "private conveyance" as any motor vehicle other than a public conveyance, "unsecured" as an unlocked or open interior, and "vessel" per s. 327.02.

Requires each law enforcement agency to conduct a promotional campaign educating the public and gun owners about the storage requirements and responsible gun ownership.

Amends s. 790.25, F.S. to clarify that the lawful storage provision applies specifically to unoccupied conveyances while preserving existing rights to possess firearms in occupied vehicles.

Takes effect July 1, 2023.
