HB 1215 — Medical Marijuana Packaging and Labeling

• Removes the requirement that each medical marijuana edible be individually sealed in plain, opaque wrapping marked only with the marijuana universal symbol
• Requires edible receptacles to include the edible's statement of identity (per 21 C.F.R. s. 101.3) and net quantity of contents (per 21 C.F.R. s. 101.105) in addition to the treatment center's department-approved logo and marijuana universal symbol
• Mandates edible receptacles include nutrition facts, allergens, ingredients, storage instructions, and an expiration date
• Requires prominent warnings on edible receptacles to keep the product away from children and pets, and a warning that the edible has not been produced or inspected under federal food safety laws
• Effective date of July 1, 2024
