Cited as the "Promoting Work, Deterring Fraud Act of 2024," requires the Department of Commerce to verify the identity of each reemployment assistance claimant before paying any benefits, effective July 1, 2024

Mandates weekly cross-checking of all benefit claims against seven databases, including the SAVE immigration program, National and State Directories of New Hires, Department of Corrections inmate records, Social Security Administration prisoner records, and CDC and state death records; prohibits payment on any claim not cross-checked unless a source is temporarily unavailable

Expands disqualification grounds to include failure to contact the required number of prospective employers per week, failure to appear for three or more scheduled job interviews, and failure to return to employment when recalled by an employer after a temporary layoff

Requires the department to investigate claims sharing a mailing address, bank account, email, phone number, or IP address with another existing claim in any state, scrutinize claims filed from foreign IP addresses, and collaborate with federal and state law enforcement on fraud referrals

Requires the department's automated job-matching system to incorporate artificial intelligence for matching participants to jobs and training opportunities and to include a knowledge, skills, and interests assessment for career guidance
