Creates section 790.075, Florida Statutes, prohibiting the possession or use of a firearm in designated "sensitive locations" throughout the state, effective October 1, 2024

Defines 18 categories of sensitive locations, including healthcare facilities, government buildings, schools and universities, places of worship, public parks and playgrounds, public transit, bars and restaurants serving alcohol, entertainment venues, shelters, and childcare programs

Possession of a firearm in a sensitive location is a third-degree felony; discharging a firearm in a sensitive location is elevated to a second-degree felony

Exempts active law enforcement officers, retired law enforcement officers, licensed security employees on duty, active-duty U.S. military members, and certain government employees authorized for natural resource protection
