Recognizes and celebrates the 85th anniversary of the Florida Highway Patrol, established in 1939 under Colonel H. Neil Kirkman within the Department of Public Safety.

Notes that the Florida Highway Patrol's first recruit class had 32 graduates, growing to 59 troopers by the end of 1940, and patrolled over 1.9 million miles of roadway in that first full year.

Acknowledges that 53 state troopers have died in the line of duty since the agency's creation as of February 2024.

Extends gratitude to current, retired, and auxiliary troopers and members of the Florida Highway Patrol Advisory Council for their service under the agency's motto of "Service, Courtesy, and Protection."

Directs presentation of an official copy of the resolution with the Senate Seal to Colonel Gary L. Howze, director of the Florida Highway Patrol.
