The Attorney General, with the Governor's consent, may compel a state attorney to appear before the Cabinet to provide information regarding the oversight of his or her office, and may receive cases forwarded from state attorneys upon the Governor's request for prosecution.

The Governor gains authority to assign specific investigations, cases, or matters from a state attorney to the Attorney General for prosecution via executive order, in addition to existing powers to exchange or reassign state attorneys between circuits.

The Attorney General is designated as a permanent member and chair of the Justice Administrative Commission, which gains expanded duties including overseeing, directing, coordinating, and administering all statutory requirements affecting state attorneys, public defenders, criminal conflict and civil regional counsel, and the Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office.

State attorneys must collect data on annual charges referred by law enforcement agencies for which case numbers were not assigned, and the Department of Legal Affairs must develop an audit schedule by December 31, 2025, and begin auditing reporting entities by July 1, 2026, with each entity audited at least once every 5 years.

The Legal Affairs Revolving Trust Fund is expanded to cover investigation, prosecution, and enforcement costs for cases forwarded from state attorneys to the Attorney General, and the reporting schedule for state attorneys shifts from fixed quarterly reports to a schedule prescribed by the Attorney General.
